Compliance
Compliance & Penalties
ZATCA penalty regimes, waiver initiatives and cross-tax compliance obligations.
Every Saudi tax comes with its own compliance obligations: registering on time, filing returns and declarations by their deadlines, paying the tax due, issuing compliant invoices and keeping records that ZATCA can inspect. The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) enforces these obligations through the penalty provisions in each tax’s law and implementing regulations, so late registration, late filing, late payment and incorrect returns can each attract separate fines.
ZATCA has also run time-limited initiatives that cancel or waive certain fines for taxpayers who correct their position. Their terms and deadlines change, so always check the current announcement. This topic collects Dariba’s guides on penalties, waivers and compliance across taxes. For the rules of a particular tax, see the related guides below and the topic page for that tax.
